Mama's Choice

Important warning

Scams and counterfeits run in the Mama’s Choice name

We have had reports of people using the Mama’s Choice name, logo and product photos to defraud others, through fake job offers, copycat social media accounts, fake prizes, and shops that are not ours. This page sets out how to be sure you are dealing with us.

What we never do

We will never ask you for any of this

A scam is easier to recognise from what it asks for than from the story it tells. If you are asked for anything below, stop the conversation.

  • Never

A fee, a deposit, or any payment at all from someone applying for a job. Our recruitment costs an applicant nothing, at every stage.

  • Never

An OTP code, a PIN, a password, or your full card details, through any channel, messaging apps and phone calls included.

  • Never

A transfer to an account in an individual’s name. Official payment goes through our official marketplace store, or to an account in the name of MAMAC (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD., and nowhere else.

  • Never

A payment to release a prize, a lucky draw or a giveaway. If you are asked to pay in order to receive something, it is not from us.

  • Never

An offer of a reseller or distributor partnership that asks you to pay up front over a private message.

  • Never

Contacting you first to ask for your banking details or your identity documents, for verification of any kind.

The scams reported to us

Fake job offers

Job offers in the Mama's Choice name, usually over WhatsApp or Telegram, asking for a training, uniform or administration fee. We never charge anything to recruit.

Copycat social media accounts

Accounts using our name, logo and product photos, then offering steep discounts by private message and asking for a transfer to a personal account. Our own accounts are in the list above.

Fake prizes and lucky draws

Messages saying you have won a prize and must first pay tax, postage or a release fee. We never ask for a payment before sending a prize.

Copycat shops and sites

Marketplace shops or websites that copy how we look and sell counterfeits, or send nothing at all. Check our list of official stores before you pay.

Paid agency offers

An invitation to become an official reseller or distributor on condition that you put money down first. We only take partnership requests through the form on the Where to buy page.

Requests for data in the name of verification

Messages claiming to come from our customer service and asking for an OTP, a PIN or card details to “verify” an order. We never ask for any of those.

Making sure a product is genuine

Check the product

Our care formulas are developed and lab-tested in Singapore. Cosmetics sold in Malaysia are notified to the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA), which issues a NOT notification number to be printed on the pack. How notification works is set out at npra.gov.my. If you are unsure about a pack, compare it and its ingredient list against our product pages.

Check the seller

Our official stores in each country are listed on the Where to buy page. A price far below everyone else’s, a request to transfer to a personal account, and a seller pressing you to settle payment away from the platform are the signs that come up most often.

If it has already happened

  1. 01

    Stop the conversation

Send no money and no further details, including to “cancel” or “recover” a payment.

  2. 02

    Call your bank

Contact your bank or e-wallet provider straight away. A transfer made minutes ago can sometimes still be held.

  3. 03

    Report it to the platform

Report the account or the shop to the platform it appeared on, where it can be taken down faster than through any other route.

  4. 04

    Report it to the authorities

Online fraud can be reported to the Royal Malaysia Police, in person at a police station or through its own reporting channels.

Report it to us

Send the screenshots, the account name, the number or the link to hello_my@mamaschoiceshop.com. Your report helps us take a fake account down sooner, and warn other Mamas.

MAMAC (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is not responsible for losses on transactions made outside the official channels listed on this page. This page is updated as reports reach us.
