It depends on your day. Its SPF 20 PA++ is medium protection, from mineral UV filters only, which suits days spent mostly indoors with short spells outside. For longer time outdoors or in strong sun, use a sunscreen with a higher SPF as well. Outdoors, reapply every 2 hours. Do not stay too long in the sun, even while using a sunscreen product.

We recommend it for the daytime. Its SPF is there for daylight; at night, a moisturiser without SPF is enough. If you wear it into the evening, take it off before bed with a double cleanse: micellar water or a cleanser first, then face wash.

Squeeze out a line of moisturiser about two fingers long and smooth it over your face and neck in gentle circles until it absorbs. Apply it at least 15 minutes before you go outdoors.

SPF 20 PA++ is medium protection. By definition, SPF 20 lets through about one twentieth of the UVB that reaches the skin, so it filters about 95%, when applied as thickly as in the test. That suits everyday activity, mostly indoors or outside for short spells. If you will be outdoors for more than 2 hours or in direct sun, use a sunscreen with a higher SPF and reapply about every 2 hours.

A little, yes. Its UV filters are mineral, and they reflect UV light from the surface of the skin, so a light white tint is normal. It blends in easily, and while it shows, it tells you which areas you have covered.

No. It has not been tested for water resistance, so we do not claim it. After it gets wet, from washing your face, swimming or heavy sweating, apply it again. It does not seal the skin, so water still reaches it when you wash your face.

Mineral, organic (chemical) and hybrid sunscreens all protect against UV when they are used properly. Some people prefer mineral filters during pregnancy and breastfeeding because they stay on the surface of the skin. If a chemical or hybrid sunscreen already suits you, there is no need to switch; what matters most is using sun protection regularly.

Tocopheryl acetate is a stable form of vitamin E used in skincare. Butylene glycol is a humectant that helps hold water in the skin, often used in place of propylene glycol. Citric acid adjusts the pH of the formula. Dimethicone helps hold moisture in and gives a smooth feel.

None of them. There is no vitamin C (the citrus aurantium dulcis peel oil in it does not supply any), no AHA/BHA, no DMDM hydantoin (a formaldehyde-releasing preservative) and no collagen.

Both: glycerin and butylene glycol are humectants, and it contains emollients such as glyceryl stearate.

We add no fragrance, so what you smell is the ingredients themselves, such as shea butter and the minerals; some Mamas describe it as milky or buttery. In pregnancy and while breastfeeding, the sense of smell can become much sharper, so a faint smell comes through more strongly. If the colour, texture and smell have not changed and it does not smell rancid, it is fine to use.

Yes, mixing brands is fine; what matters is the ingredients. Pairs best not used together: retinol with AHA/BHA, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or vitamin C; AHA/BHA with vitamin C or niacinamide; vitamin C with niacinamide; and BHA with benzoyl peroxide. Combining them makes irritation more likely and can stop the products working as they should.

Yes. Once it has absorbed, you can layer a sunscreen with a higher SPF over it. A tinted sunscreen on top also works, though your face may feel heavy; powder or foundation on top is a lighter way to add coverage.

Yes. Moisturised skin helps makeup go on smoothly, and the SPF sits underneath. A pimple patch can go on top too, once the moisturiser has absorbed.

It is a light, water-based moisturiser. Blackheads form when dead skin cells and oil build up in a pore, and cleansing regularly helps. If you notice more blackheads after starting it, use less, or stop and see whether they settle.

Stop using it for a few days and see whether the spots settle. If they do, an ingredient may not suit you. When you change your routine, start with the basics (face wash and moisturiser) for 3–5 days before adding a serum, so you can tell what your skin is reacting to. This product does not purge or detox the skin, so new spots are not a sign that it is working.

It has been dermatologically tested, but any skin can react, and skin is often more sensitive during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Patch test first on the inner arm or behind the ear. If it stings or itches, stop using it for a while, hold off on other new products, and see a doctor if it does not settle.

Common causes are washing your face too often (twice a day at most), dry or air-conditioned rooms (a richer moisturiser or a humidifier helps), and not drinking enough or eating enough healthy fats. If your skin stays dry or becomes itchy, see a doctor.

Shake it before use. If the colour and smell have not changed, it is fine to use. Stickiness usually comes from using too much (a line two fingers long is enough), layering in the wrong order (thinnest texture first, thickest last), or not letting the product before it absorb.

A small amount swallowed is usually not serious: drink some water and watch how you feel. If a lot is swallowed, or there is nausea or vomiting, get medical help straight away. If it gets in the eyes, rinse with running water, and see a doctor if stinging or redness does not settle.

Trying to conceive: ask the doctor running your programme first. Hormonal contraception: you can use it; spots linked to contraception are hormonal, so a moisturiser will not change them. After breast cancer: once your cancer care is finished and you are back to normal activity, you can use it; before then, ask your doctor first. Dermatitis: use it only when the skin is calm, patch test first, and stop during a flare-up. Otherwise there is no need to see a doctor first.

It is a moisturiser with SPF. Daily sun protection helps stop dark spots looking darker from sun exposure, and moisturised skin makes fine lines look less noticeable.
